North Horr Girls Secondary School is a county boarding girls’ school located in North Horr Constituency, Marsabit County, approximately 3 kilometers from North Horr Town. Established in 2011, the school serves learners predominantly from nomadic pastoralist communities who often face challenges accessing digital learning resources and modern ICT equipment.
The school continues to play a transformative role in expanding educational opportunities for girls in the region, promoting academic achievement, discipline, and personal development despite resource limitations. One of its major priorities is strengthening digital literacy access to ensure learners are exposed to global knowledge and modern technology skills essential for future opportunities.
Angaza Center Partnership
Through the launch of the Essential Digital Literacy (EDL) Program, Angaza Center has strengthened digital inclusion at North Horr Girls Secondary School, a critical step toward bridging the technology gap in remote communities.
The program provided fully functional laptops to support teaching and learning. In addition, more than 10 teachers were trained and certified in digital literacy, empowering them to effectively integrate technology into classroom instruction.
The program launch was attended by Teachers Service Commission (TSC) officials, Board of Management members, school leadership, local administration, and community stakeholders, reinforcing collaboration and sustainability in supporting education for girls in marginalized regions.
