Dr. Ted Goergen – Empowering Students Through Education and Leadership
Dr. Ted Goergen is an esteemed educator and advocate for student empowerment. With nearly 20 years of experience in education, Ted currently serves as the Director of Student Activities at Adlai E. Stevenson High School in Lincolnshire, Illinois. Throughout his career, he has held various pivotal roles, including middle school and high school science teacher, as well as a curriculum team leader, reflecting his passion for shaping the minds of the future.
As the Director of Student Activities, Ted plays a vital role in providing support and leadership for Stevenson’s co-curricular programs. Overseeing more than 150 club advisors, he ensures that students have enriching experiences through various extracurricular activities. Under his guidance, the Student Leadership Academy thrives, fostering the personal growth and leadership skills of young learners.
Beyond his work at Stevenson, Ted serves as an educational consultant, collaborating with schools across the nation to enhance learning environments and student experiences. His commitment to educational leadership led him to become the President of Illinois Directors of Student Activities, where he actively contributed to educational policies and initiatives.
Ted’s journey in education began as a Science Teacher at Stevenson High School and Washington Middle School in Dubuque, Iowa. He continues to value science education and its impact on shaping curious minds.
His dedication to professional growth is evident through his educational accomplishments, which include a Doctor of Education (EdD) in Educational Leadership and Administration from the American College of Education, a Master of Arts in Educational Leadership from Roosevelt University, and a Master of Arts and Bachelor of Arts in Education and Biology from Clarke University.
With a deep-rooted belief in the transformative power of education and leadership, Dr. Goergen continues to be a driving force in empowering students and cultivating a brighter future for all.
